BIO
SEAN CHRISTOPHER MCGEE

Sean Christopher McGee, a music composer born in Los Angeles, California, has been actively involved in composing since his early childhood, demonstrating a remarkable talent from the tender age of five. His affinity for the enchanting sounds of the violin can be attributed to the influence of his grandfather, Dennis McGee, a renowned Louisiana Cajun musician known for his exceptional violin playing. This musical lineage further extends to Sean's father, Gerry McGee (1937-2019), a highly accomplished guitar player who had the privilege of accompanying legendary artists such as Elvis Presley, Kris Kristofferson, The Ventures, Eric Clapton, and many others.
During his formative years, Sean was greatly influenced by his mother, Anne McGee, a successful singer-songwriter, and children's author. Anne McGee's musical talents and songwriting skills played a significant role in shaping Sean's own piano playing and writing abilities. Notably, it was a piano initially purchased by his mother for her use that became Sean's constant musical companion.

Around the age of seven, a pivotal moment occurred when Sean encountered a grand piano in the living room of a friend's house. Seizing the opportunity, Sean sat down and began playing an intricate melody. Astoundingly, his friend's mother inquired about his knowledge of the particular song he was playing, to which Sean expressed surprise and admitted that he had never consciously heard the song before. It was later discovered that the melody he had played was none other than the famous composition, "Fur Elise." Sean also developed an interest in another song, "The Music Box Dancer," which he heard on the radio.
In addition to his musical endeavors, Sean McGee also possesses a multifaceted artistic talent, extending to filmmaking, photography, and the art of painting. Currently residing in the Los Angeles area, Sean's music draws inspiration from his rich ancestral heritage, encompassing Native American Indian, Irish, and New Zealand Maori influences.
With a unique blend of melodies that seamlessly intertwines old and new, Sean McGee aspires to leave a lasting legacy through his lifetime achievements in the realm of music. A selection of his photography can be found online, and many of his images have been incorporated into the design of his album covers, further showcasing his artistic versatility.
